Pohutukawa Art Piece IV
This Furniture Art Piece was the fourth design from the “New Beginnings” series designed and made by Brendon Catley in 2009.
This piece contains three elements:
Timber from a 600-800 year old Pohutukawa tree
Laser cut hand-painted steel in the table’s subframe
Paua shell inlay on the inside of the drawer handles
A hand-made slump glass shelf.
It also features a carved Totara pediment that depicts the Pukepoto Ridge Crest from Kaitaia, Northland.
It bears the makers monogram and is numbered.
